Video: Rick Ross Talks Free Mason

July 22, 2010

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Above, Rick Ross talks to MTV about his collab joint with Jay-Z and John Legend, “Free Mason“. He speaks on why he chose to run with that title and the energy generated during the recording session with Hov and Legend.

“I know if I’m on a record with Jay-Z, not only are my rhymes gonna be on point, not only is the flow gonna be intact, but the way I say the words … The title of the record, the meaning of the record, is the title big enough for the expectations of this collaboration? A lot of people were like, ‘Wow, that’s what you gonna title the record?’ I’m like, ‘Why not?’ That’s what hip-hop’s about. Let’s get to the point. It’s so much speculation, so many whispers coming out of the sewers. Why not do a record and call it ‘Free Mason’ and we do what we do on it and they’ll know when they hear it. The title may throw them off, but it’s a good thing. They gotta hear it, and when they listen to it, everything that’s running through their minds, it’ll be answered. That was the whole idea when I brought it to [Jay].”

Teflon Don is in stores now.

Rick Ross ft. Raekwon – Audio Meth

July 22, 2010

More Rick Ross? Yes.

This time around, Rick Ross and Raekwon hook up for an iTunes bonus from Ross’ Teflon Don, entitled “Audio Meth”.

His album comes out July 20th if you are going to support. If not, you can certainly find majority, if not all, of his songs on the internet.

UPDATE: Here comes the explicit version of this track. Click the link.

Rick Ross ft. Cee-Lo – Tears Of Joy

July 13, 2010

Here comes another record from Rick Ross, off of his Teflon Don, which drops next Tuesday.

Ross recruits Cee-Lo and producer No I.D. for “Tears of Joy”, and needless to say, this is another dope song. Though I will not praise Ross for his verses, I will give my praises to Cee-Lo for hooking up the chorus, but most importantly No I.D. for his dope beat.

Rick Ross ft. Jay-Z & John Legend – Free Mason

July 13, 2010

I was just discussing Rick Ross is a terrible rapper, and that he should not be attracting this much attention to his name. However, he happens to pull some of the most prolific hip-hop artists and producers out of the woodworks to help him create a dope song.

This time around, Ross pulls the Inkredibles to produce the beat, Jay-Z to lay a sick verse, and John Legend for vocals. Overall, this is a perfect record in my eyes.

Teflon Don due out July 20th.

Rick Ross ft. Drake & Chrisette Michele – Aston Martin Music (Official Extended Mix)

July 13, 2010

Here comes the official extended mix of Rick Ross’ “Ashton Martin Music” record done with Drake and Chrisette Michele. It seems as if the original had Drake lending vocals, but not a verse. This time around, Drake drops a full, and ill, verse.

Link down below. Enjoy.
