Japanese Cartoon – In the Jaws of The Lords of Death

July 16, 2010

Lupe Fiasco, Graham Burris, Matt Nelson and Le Messie come together as Japanese Cartoon, a punk and rock influenced band. Though their first album, In the Jaws of The Lords of Death, has been in the works for several months, we are finally given this treat.

Featuring nine songs, In the Jaws of The Lords of Death is now available for free from their website.

The artwork for the band, as shown above, is done by Nathan Cabrera. No doubt, Lupe Fiasco has put together quite the cast for this project, and has not failed with it either.

J. Cardim ft. Joe Budden, Sheek Louch & Sha Stimuli – Hood 2

July 16, 2010

Here comes the latest leak off of J. Cardim’s The IN Crowd, which is set to be released this upcoming Monday.

Featuring Joe Budden, Sheek Louch and Sha Stimuli, as well as Cardim on the boards, “Hood 2” gives me another reason to be excited for his upcoming project. Link below.

Sidebar: Joe Budden is wild. He is severely underrated, and if it was not for my friend Chris, I would have been clueless of his lyricism.

J. Cole – Premeditated Murder

July 16, 2010

Here comes a new record from J. Cole, entitled “Premeditated Murder”.

Not entirely sure if this will make its way to his debut album, but nonetheless, it is a solid track.

July 16, 2010

Off of their collaborative album, Wake Up!, due out September 21st, John Legend and The Roots link up with Common and Melanie Fiona, as the cover Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes’ 1975 classic, “Wake Up Everybody”.

There should be an accompanying video dropping soon, as they shot for the video this past week in Brooklyn.

John Legend & The Roots ft. Common & Melanie Fiona – Wake Up Everybody

Sidebar: Not much to say, except WOW. This record is an instant classic, as John Legend’s vocals, The Roots’ background instrumentation, Melanie Fiona’s chorus vocals and Common’s verse are all perfect. I love this record. Enjoy.
